The Start

The sale of body organs to rich recipients from poor people, has been a situation that has occurred for a few years, and has been accelerating in frequency.  It is this acceleration that has brought the question of its ethicality into question.

To the public this has been a 'hidden' problem for years. The question as to whether it is right to 'buy' an organ from a poor person, and thus help their daily situation slightly, or whether it's really a form of monetary coercion, is arguable. The Chinese make it an art to illustrate how many ways they hold human life to be worth so little.

Falun Gong members have shown to be good providers of organs because of their belief in staying healthy by exercising and following a good diet.  Kind of like fattening onself for the slaughter.

If we don't discourage this activity in the strongest language, the following scenario could occur:

The uber-rich Patron is getting on in years, and she thinks of all the great times she has had making films, recording albums and singing in front of presidents (and occasionally bedding them).

The very narcissistic, but reclusive, lady, has few regrets, even though her high life-style has resulted in her lungs, liver and kidneys being strained trying to get rid of the many pollutants she has entered into her body througout her life.  The weed smoked, the coke inhaled, the alcohol imbibed, have all taken their toll.

She realizes what she needs to do is hire that Special Team her great friend told her about.  He said that his liver had been kicked around too much and couldn't regenerate.  So he got a team together who were able to find a nice, fresh, healthy liver for him.  The medical team was made up of the best technical doctors money could buy, even though they weren't too worried about the ethical side.

So she hires the team and they go out into the night on Friday, prowling the streets of New York City .  To determine possible genetic matches with The Patron, they look at dozens of people, using 'touch' samplers on their potential subjects’ skin and their saliva from drinking glasses.

They find a nice, young, 22 year old woman who is obviously very healthy, works out, and turns down any drinks after the single Cosmopolitan she allowed herself.  Striking up a conversation, they find she is new to the City, and is looking for work as a fitness instructor. They tell her about a great contact they know in the health business, and that very evening they're going to a party given by their contact.  She agrees to go along and walks off into the night with them.

A few weeks later The Patron is amazed at how good she feels, given those fresh, healthy organs provided by The Team.  She thinks she'll next need a pancreas, perhaps even an eyeball to replace those failing due to cataracts.  Life can be good in old age. And they said that money can't buy you happiness!  This is pretty close.
